I am Dr.Sruthi Beladev. I am one of the residents in the UK under BAPIO.
I started this journey while I was in India in 2020. I came to know about the programme of MRCP plus MBA 2 plus 2 programme by Bapio and then I enquired about the programme. I felt it was a good one for those who are planning to come to the UK.
I applied for the programme and i had an interview with Bapio. Luckily I got selected and then I joined Delhi Park Hospital.I did the training at Park Hospital for 2 years from 2020 September to 2022 September. In these 2 years, i had training in medicine and its subspecialties.
We were 4 students in the first batch and then so many batches joined later. We also had classes from consultants in the UK organised by Bapio.
A couple of times, consultants from Bapio visited us to know the progress and to take class. We were having regular exams and at the end of one year there was a practical exam and I entered into a second year which was also the same as the first year. At the end of the second year, I did my OET and BAPIO-arranged interviews with so many trusts in UK.
Finally, I got selected for East Kent hospital foundation trust. Bapio has given me the sponsorship for GMC registration and I got the registration and I joined Queen Elizabeth queen mother hospital in the acute medicine department as a trusted doctor and my training is going on here. I am about to complete my third year with Bapio this September.
I think this programme by Bapio is a good opportunity for those who wish to come to the UK.
I was always passionate about paediatrics. So when I completed my residency in Paediatrics and Neonatology I was eager to look for opportunities to expand my horizons, develop new skills and gain experience. I wrestled with the idea of going abroad for quite some time until I came across BTA. Just after the first consultation I was convinced that NHS is the way to go. My fiancé also a paediatrician jumped the wagon and we both were excited at the possibility of finding a job in the UK. But that was honestly a bit far-fetched.
We were looking for 2 job placements at the same attachment with just an MD. Not having our MRCPCH for quite a hurdle too. But through Dr Pallavi, a BTA associate in India, we came across an exciting job opportunity. Then began our journey where Dr Parag, Dr Vineet both consultants in the UK along with other BTA fellows helped us prep for the interview.
It was definitely tough but the joy when we got to know we both had cracked it was something else. Honestly, a lot of credit goes to the BTA team because we found an ST 4 equivalent job in the same hospital. The best part was they continued to support us in different ways even after we secured a job. Be it watching induction videos or getting GMC registration or helping with accommodation the team was accessible and profoundly involved in getting us there.
I don’t think going to the UK for a NHS job corresponding to our qualification level would have been possible without BTA. Me and my husband Dr Pulkit are really thankful for this opportunity.
I am writing here from the bottom of my heart to express my deepest gratitude towards the BAPIO Training Academy (BTA) for their invaluable support and guidance in helping me achieve my dream of immigrating to the UK as a Doctor.
As an aspiring medical professional from India, I had always dreamt of pursuing my career in the UK. However, the process of immigration and obtaining a medical license in the UK can be quite daunting and overwhelming. That’s when I came across BTA, and I must say that it was a turning point in my life.
BTA provided me with a wealth of resources and support, including guidance on the immigration process, assistance with job applications, and mentorship from experienced doctors. They also helped me to connect with other medical professionals and provided me with opportunities to attend the induction programme.
Thanks to the support and guidance of BTA, I was able to navigate the complex process of immigration and obtain my medical license in the UK. I am now working as a doctor in the UK, and I owe a great deal of my success to BTA.
I highly recommend BTA to any aspiring medical professional who is looking to immigrate to the UK. Their support and guidance are invaluable, and I am truly grateful for everything they have done for me.
Being the pilot batch of the Indo-UK program, before coming to UK, even though I had few online discussions with Dr Parag, I did not have a clear idea on what BAPIO is all about.
Only after reaching here, I could learn more about their network and the initiatives BAPIO is doing for the benefit of doctors of Indian origin.
It is only because of BAPIO’s effective guidance, I could come and start working in UK without any more delay in India. I sincerely thank the entire team of BAPIO both in India and the UK for all the support and guidance for their 2+3 FRCEM programme.
